Pre-Schooling
To take care of the
children from their early childhood, Day Care Center (Anganbari)
programs are implemented in the villages. The centers are responsible
for providing play way learning environment to the young ones and to
look after their health. The children are provided with various toys
and picturesque graphic charts so they can understand their
surrounding environment and prepare themselves for primary education.
These centers serve as pre-primary education centers. Center workers
are also responsible for looking after proper vaccination and
nutritious diet supplements for the growth of children. Nutrition
supply is provided to the centers to distribute it to the children and
to focus especially on malnourished children. Centers also keep a
record of pregnant and lactating mothers in the respective population
so that they can distribute nutrition to the mothers also. Children
being the main focus of the Shake Hands efforts, day care centers will
regularly be visited by the volunteers to work with the children.
Awareness is generated on health and hygiene issues of the children.
Children will be provided with healthy learning environment through
interactive games and pictographic stories. Emphasis on the
nutritional care of the children is also given in the centers.
The volunteers will also get involved with the children in various
games and learning exercises to increase their interest and motivation
and also the physical health.
