It is a good program. I really enjoyed working with the children at the orphanage. Accommodation was fine and the food was really very good. Shake Hands staff was very friendly and helpful. Teaching

Teaching Program is going on in Government Primary Schools in rural areas of different state of India. The standard of teaching in these schools is usually very poor. They study in the absence of teaching aids and at many places students have to study in the open. In such schools teaching is only restricted to the textbooks which are some times also not available to them. Students do not get an opportunity to explore their skills and they are not able to increase their IQ.
Volunteers will work in the schools and organize various enjoyable and creative activities for the children to sharpen their talents and increase the knowledge. Volunteers work continuously to explore the hidden talent in the children and to promote them. Local children also learn different skills and methodologies in their study programs from volunteers that they otherwise would not learn. A mutual exchange of skills and experiences enrich on both the ends. The volunteers might find that they learn as much as from them as they from the volunteers!

Shake Hands volunteers will coordinate with non-governmental bodies to support the efforts for child education. The volunteers will assist in a wide variety of chosen subjects and activities, including English, Mathematics, arts and sports.
