The Rural Camp
The Rural Camp is the volunteers’ home and it is situated in the
village Jiliya 15 kms far from Kuchaman. This is where the
accommodation for the volunteers is provided. The Rural Camp offers
comfortable accommodation and easy approach to project sites for the
volunteers. We feel that a professional involvement of the volunteers
in the rural part of the country requires a continuous stay in the
local area and have interaction with the community members.
Organization has designed a rural stay and community mobilization
activity in an attractive and participatory manner. The volunteers
stay in the Rural Camp and undergo different learning and recreational
activities prevailing in the area. The Rural Camp is managed by team
members, who also assist the volunteers in the fields.
The Rural Camp is characterized by its unique appearance. The camp
area is fully residential and equipped with modern & traditional
arrangements for the volunteers. The rooms are made in earthen style
finishing with mud and clay. The roof as you will be able to see from
the pictures is of local thatch. The beds have been made by the local
artisans in the traditional style. These rooms stay cool even in very
harsh summers and remain warm in severe winters. There is facility of
western toilets & washrooms for common uses for volunteers.
The arrangements are planned to give an overview of local culture in
the daily routine of the volunteers. The team serves quality food to
the volunteers in the camp. The cook expert in the local preparations
is also available to give a touch of variety of Indian food.
The volunteers fulfill their desire of living in the traditional
manner by staying at rural camp site. There is a facility of twin and
triple sharing rooms in the Rural Camp for the volunteers. Different
facilities available for the volunteers in the camp are as follows:
Kitchen & Dinning: Well managed kitchen and dining area in the
camp with facility of preparing traditional and modern food. The
dining space is comfortable and spacious.
Recreation Hall: Arrangement of T.V., DVD and music system with
ample of space to celebrate special occasions and spent leisure time.
Medical Facilities: Availability of first aid kit in the camp
and medical center in the village itself to take care of serious
health disorder.
Cafe: Various beverage items and chocolates, chips etc.
Internet Cafe: 24 hour internet facility in the camp available.
ISD-PCO: International call facility in the camp at nominal
government rates is available.
Local Transportation: Availability of local transport for the
volunteers to drop and pick them from their various destination &
excursion locations.
